Install Popular Programs in Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat via BleedingEdge | Liberian Geek

After installing Ubuntu, you’ll probably want to install some popular programs for your system. Programs like Adobe Acrobat Reader, Flash Player, Google Chrome, Dropbox, Boxee, Google Picasa, Google Earth, Sun Java and many more. To install them one at a time, it would probably take a long time, but with BleedingEdge, you can install all of them with one script.

 

Getting started:

 

To get started, click here and download the latest BleedingEdge script.

After saving BleedingEdge, go to Places –> Downloads.

Then right-click the download file and select ‘Properties’.

Then select the ‘Permissions’ tab and check the Execute box and close.

Next, go to Applications –> Accessories –> Terminal and type the command below:


cd Downloads

Then type the command below to run the script.


sudo sh BleedingEdge0_8_5.sh

Accept the prompts to continue and choose which programs you want installed.
